I had a documentary film company in Camden, Maine In the 1980s. We were successful and wanted to share that success with our local community. We offered community nonprofits a free documentary each year to support their efforts. The local Knox County Abuse and Neglect Council approached us. I asked the Executive Director whether she wanted an informational film or one that gave a visceral sense of the experiences those sexually abused as children lived through. She chose the latter and she offered herself as the storyteller. You are seeing a portion of her story In this video clip. Viewers have asked me whether these photographs are real. They are not. Many people in the local community, Camden, Maine, offered themselves up as actors in the local photographer directed by my daughter who was 18 at the time, took these photographs to help us to visualize the story. I realize that this is not easy to watch but I believed and believe that it is important to help others.
