Robin Lewis spent 1 month walking 614 km along the Sanriku coast – from Aomori to Fukushima, Japan. becoming one of the first people to walk the length of the “Michinoku Coastal Trail”. He believes that every person should take a walk along Tohoku’s coastline, at least once in their lifetime, not only to explore Tohoku’s scenery, taste its delicacies, and enjoy its rugged outdoors but to meet its people. His personal encounters can provide invaluable lessons about the 3.11 disaster, people’s resilience, hope and ideas that can change our perception. Robin is Co-founder u0026 Director of Social Innovation Japan - a platform for social action. He is also a consultant at the World Bank, where he specialises on issues related to climate change and natural disasters. His work has spanned over 20 countries, from clean water projects in Haiti to post-earthquake recovery in Nepal. Robin, born to a Japanese mother and a British father, is passionate about tackling social and environmental challenges and loves going for long walks.
